Design proposes for LIFE Gestures plugged into areas of the station and its vicinity to support vitality of life, increase attractive qualities of city space, support commercial activities and provide urban transit area solutions; making the arrival to Malmi an eventful entry into hub of activities, full of life.
Malmi station has 5 means of arrival and departure. We have paired these transportations with LIFE
Gesture programs. If arriving by train, one will find a LIFE Gesture floating above the train tracks,
welcoming and inviting one to work out or run on the tread mill to soothe sitting legs. If arriving through
retail areas, pedestrians can enjoy amenities of a bar, outdoor garden and seating and utilize
transportation ticketing to ease tired legs. If arriving by car and having parked at the parking lot, one will
find a LIFE Gesture at the façade threshold, providing power nap sections and a place to eat breakfast or
purchase dinner. If arriving by bicycle, LIFE Gestures provides shower, spa, changing facility and
snack/juice bar to help one to freshen up and prepare for work. Finally, if arriving or departing by bus,
LIFE Gesture provides protected waiting area and wall climbing amenity to provide exercise and
enjoyment. LIFE Gestures can be adapted to be utilized at other transportation hubs, programmed to fit
the needs of the inhabiting city.
